Phew~
I finally have time to blog about ATC experience as an Instructor. hahas. well, i was tasked as a Logistic IC for this year ATC. hahas. Erm, is a good experience for me ar.. yup. i have no photos yet. will update the photos when i receive the photos form Desmond. hahas. =)
16/11/07.
Meet Rebecca at her house bus stop to help her carry some stuffs to campsite as she needed some help from me. well, is some stuffs for the campers.. reach GYSS around 8.30 and collected my landyard for the Camp. well, the landyard design is very beautifull. hahas. i also collected my Unit t-shirt that day. after collecting my stuffs, the NCOs took over and had some light PT session for the cadets before they set off. PT PT PT till aound 8.55 where we aboard the bus. we waited for ms ang and ms Aw before we headed off to changi jetty for advance party.. we reached Changi Jetty about 9.45 and then we let the cadets to have their breakfast cum lunch before they head to the capsite...
After the meal, we took the bum boat and head to ubin. we booked a van and the instructor place their backpack, stuffs and logisitc stuffs onto the van. den, Together with the 2 coords, we went to rent the bicycle for 3 nights for 3 days.hahas. den after wards, Sec 2 Log Ic told me that he and me will be taking the van to campsite as we are the log ICs and just nice, there are only 2 seats left in the van. thus, he and me sat the van to the camp site.
After reaching the campsite, is work time for me... i report the total no of campers and instructors and officers to the FI so that he can help me draw out the necessary Logisitc that the camp neeed. i draw out mess tins, tent sets, stove, combat ration, walkie talkies, and blah blah blah. hahas. after that, Jacky and me sort out the stuffs and allocate the things to the campers. thanks alot sir. with out ur help, i think i will be dead tired before the camp even started. hahas. thanks again Sir!! hahas. after whole campers arrive, is time for tent pitching. for some reason, we only planned for 10 male tentage and 2 female tentage. but the instructor in-charge for tenth pitching actually allocated 11 male tentages and 2 female tentage.. i realise the mistake when there is a sortage of pegs after there left 2 groups and only i set of pegs were left. sensing something is wrong, i quickly dashed to the tentage area and ask everyone to fall in and i started re-allocating the males tentage so that everything went back to normal. and, glad that everything went smoothly. hahas.
next activity is oriteerienting. i am suppose to teach one group, but i'm busy and the fact that there are sufficient instructor for the programme, i was taken off the duty and given time for me to settle some logisitc stuffs...
after oriteering, if i not wrong,is dinner le. this is the time that i really start to panic. i was afraid that the campers may lose the mess tin. so i was countin the mess tin after every meals the campers have. yup.nth much happen and i receive the same amount of mess tin back. hahas.
oh ya. this is the thing i going to complain about. i look for the FI to ask for firewood for the campfire.. the FI told me to look for him at 4. i went to find him at 4 sharp in his office. in the end. he b****** me. saying that " Deh. CAN"T U SEE I'M HAVING MY MEAL?? CAN I HAVE MY MEAL FIRST!!" arrghhh. damn. ask me find him at 4 den he b****** me. Damn!.
Next up is night treasure hunt. i was tasked with a group and we ran around the camp site and search for the check point. well, i know where are all the checkpoints were, but, the campers don't. in the end, i ran around with them. hahas.
After night treasure hunt, is debrief session and also supper. the campers had the barley before they call it a day..
After ensuring that the campers are in their tents, we had our instructors de-brief at12.30. we de-brief till 3 plus. and den after washing up, i slept at the canteen from 4.30 till 5.30 and get ready for the next day activity
well, sentry were cancelled and so was fire drill. The reason?? Some Staff actually cancelled it. because she feels that there are security in campsite. so the campsite is safe. thus. i slept in the cantee... looking after the mess tins and logisitcs stuffs.. .LolX!!
17/11/07.
Woke up at 5.30 and i ran around waking Instructors that are involve in the first activity which is PT!!. woke the coords up and den the PTI. after waking them up, is Shower time for me!! hahas. quickly went to the toilet and do all my stuffs in there. and guess wat, the feeling is damn good after the showering!! hahas!
After showering, i didn't reallyt join them for PT. i sat at the commnad post and try to clear up the mess, checking the log book and stuffs. hahas. actually, i'm just looking for things for me to do instead of me joining thme for PT. well, i just had my shower only. hahas. lol. after the PT session, is flag raising. well, i forgot what i was doing during the flag raisisng session.. but nevertheless,after flag raising, is makan time. Is the first breakfast session for the campers. the breakfast menu for the the first breakfast was, milo, biscuit and power bar. hahas. and thanks to desmond sir, the instructors have french toast for breakfast. hahas. oppps!! ( and i'm glad that the mess tins are not lost yet...)
After breakfast, it was rafting session. i was involved in it. i change into my wet attire. and together with teng teng, we set off to bahru for the rafting session. oh ya. a little thing to share.. there's jelly fish in ubin's sea. and theresa mdm gotten stung by it. but she's fine after having a jab. and i was surprise when they say that when got stung, use urine (preferably male one) can neutralise the poison in it.. i was stunn when i heard that. anyway... after briefing for the campers, they went to collect the rafting stuffs for their raft. they stated building their raft form 9 plus all the way to 12 plus before the raft was ready to launch.. after their raft was on the beach, and briefing by the DY Warden, the raft was launched out. and i hold onto the spars by the side. and mr Jack... actually use the oar and "whack" the water onto my face. arrgh. hahas. but well.. hahas. And thankfully, their raft came back as raft instead of submarine.. luckily.. hahas. we were expectin the raft to come back as submarine. but. hahas...
After their rafting session it was suppose to makan and bathing time for the campers. they had their rations and i was having maggi mee cooked by one of the coords. one coord busy cooking another one busy eating and actually left the camper that are back from ATF there doing nth in the foyer area. well. after i had my quick lunch, i quickly went to check if the campers were having their lunch or not. Campers are tired and normally when we are tired, we wouldn't eat. i was in this situation the day before after carrying all the stuffs out. hahas.
After their makan session, it started to rain... the groups that are suppose to have their rafting session stayed in the foyer and they are suppose to plan their own game. and the irritating part is that the PA system keep on repeating the same thing.. "LIGHTING HAS BEEN DETECTED. KINDLY SEEKS SHELTER IN THE NEAREST SHELTER!!" arrgh. it keep on repeating itself. Rafting was supose to be a 5 hour session. sensing that it will be too long for them, we actually push command task up and they had command task. i was the IC for this activity. after managing to get sufficient instructors for this activity, we carry out the command task... and guess wat, the group i am in damn drama ar. they "clown" around and "fool" around. well, there's a good thing, if not, i sure fall asleep de. hahas.
and then, is time for their dinner and bathing session. we only rmb abt their fresh ration when their dinner is about to start. i quickly went to the kitchen and start preparing the fresh ration which is crab stick and hot dogs. arrgh. and guess what, is still frozen. hahas. we quickly boil water and hope to defroze i and thank fully, we manage to de froze it wat chop chop chop, we cut them and we hand deliever the stuffs to the campers.
AND!!! is campfire time... we had a "great" time during the campfire session as we were entertain by the camper.. blah blah blah.. is sooo much things to talk abt. those that are interested, msn me and i will tell u more. hahas.
And. one group left their mess tin at the stair case and i found it. hahas. and.. i screwed them the next morning. hahas!!

had longer sleep that day. wake the instructors up and activites follows. as usual, the coord forget about the french toast for the campers and we prepare it last min. and i was the waiter delievering the bread to the campers. hahas. walking around with my thongs!! hahas.
And then, is area cleaning time. the campers start to un pitch their tent while i went back to the bunk and collect the bed sheets that the officers and other instructors had used. count count count and lucky, is correct. hahas. after eveything is done, and when prize presentation is over, together with fiona, fy and raymond, we cycled out to clear the roads for the campers. hahas. yup yup.
Ya., after this camp, learnt alot of things and i see people more clearly now. yup yup. i have alot more comments but well, it is not appropriate for me to type it here. =)
